As usual - there was none - and attendance was up 19% on last year.
Thanks to...
Active Luton, B&T Brewery, Tring Brewery, Millwhites Cider, Greene King Brewery, Lisa & Stan, Buster, all the (very special) stewards.
Cheers, & see you next time.

The 27th Luton Beer and Cider Festival is over and a big success (subject to counting the pennies).
Real Ales
We ordered 107 real ales but two of them didn't clear to our exacting standards so we didn't serve these. Of the 105 left, we served plenty.
Over 1000 gallons of ale were drunk - that's 8000 pints. Best af all was the fact that we still just about had a reasonable selection when we finally closed on Saturday evening.
The beer of the festival - as voted for by the visitors - was Flowerpots Perridge Pale. In second place was Dark Star American Pale Ale and in joint third were Alehouse Dougie's IPA and B&T Two Granddads.

On Thursday evening we announced that the Globe, Dunstable was once again the winner of South Bedfordshire Pub of the Year 2010. There was a presentation of the award to the well-deserving Maureen the ladlady.
On Saturday there was a special presentation for the Champion Beers of East Anglia. Winner was B&T for Shefford Old Dark (or SOD). Also receiving awards were Miltons and Elgoods both from Cambridgeshire.

The cider and perry bar was again very popular, so much so that we had to re-order twice during the festival. We sold a total of 114 gallons of cider & perry (915 pints). By far the most popular was the festival special Pink Elephant Blackberry Blush produced by local Millwhites Cider.
We bought 508 bottles of Belgian, German and Dutch beers and we sold all 508. For the first time we actually sold out of bottled beer before any of the ale bars.
